The Video Game Industry Is Dying!
The video game industry has changed over the years where games use to be made for entertainment & having fun. Today games are designed to be competitive & time restraining games today are not made for fun. Today games are released broken, unstable, & incomplete the companies do not care literally!
They know that you will still get the game because of it's name they know you will wait for all the bugs to be ironed out because you paid. They know they got you because once they have your money thats it! Companies know when their competitors are releasing their games they make it a business to know so they can start time limited events also known as season journeys all because they want you on their game & not someone elses.
The companies do terrible things like rebalancing stuff instead of creating new content making communities argue with each other like they are getting paid for their opinions which they are not. They convinced society that we should be arguing with each other over what's fair & if anything you do you enjoy is unbalanced & needs to be nerfed. If companies do create new content now the new stick is to keep the new content around during the season.
These are cheap, dirty, & disgusting tactics that the companies do to maximize profit at your expense! The industry was not like this in the past there was a time when a company would put in as much as they can into a game. There was a time wherw rigorious testing was done to make sure everything was perfect before release, games use to be beatable in 8 hours & offer tons of repeatable fun after beating the game.
When a sequel would come out most of the time it would have all the same functionality as the original game & then more in addition to that. We don't get this type of fun anymore everything is a stress challenge which a game is not suppose to be. They call it strategy & being competitive but there is a fine line that seperates these from entertainment & hassle. Video games are suppose to be enjoyed not stressed that it's hard & you keep trying because you appreciate the difficulty then by the time you do beat it over 2 hours have gone by.
The selling points today for video games are hey this game just came out & this build is broken i'm doing trillions of damage hurry before they patch it. The companies know they do this on purchase to guarantee anyone who didn't preorder or get it on launch day because they watch youtubers & see others exploiting the glitch they think the games going to be like this! Easy, doing trillions of dps with junk basic gear, no stress because this yt is doing it. Then they drop a patch & your like wtf happened i'm dying all the time i'm doing no damage wtf. Then some new thing comes out that you have ti spend hours on because 9 out of 10 your going to get the same weak gear till your 14th or 32nd rub & then you might get a break.
They want you to struggle for hours stress is success because your not getting off till you get past it. You want to take a break sorry 3 daily quests one weekly quest & some playlist of preselected missions. They want to make sure you spend at the minimum 4 hours a day everyday on the game. This is obsurd gaming companies have become full of greed & it's sad we cannot get good video games anymore.
Bungie a gaming company is currently in court for allegations of stealing storyline from people online & for misleading customers with expansions that have come out since "The Final Shape" Bungie sold expansions that they charge between $40 & $120 to access for 3 months then they take it away but they did not say that in any description. A California judged rules that as far as digital purchases go meaning online transactions for digital downloads is just the customer paying for a license agreement. Since there is no physical product it is an agreement between you the customer & the company since it's there license agreement they can alter or terminate it anyway they see fit.
Using Sony as an example of reference if they were to shutdown the Playstation store they do not owe you anything. They do not have to compensate you for the video games you purchased that you would have no longer access too. With that Bungie can take away expansions & charge you for access to it.
The judge then ruled that in the state of California it shall be law that all digital sales with time limited content must be stated in the sale description. This only applies in one of the states out of the entire country anywhere else they do not have to let you know that this content you're buying can disappear.
How does this make you feel are you outraged or upset? It's important to voice your concerns about the ethics & morality of sales descriptions. Digital purchases of games should be more then licenses agreements the future has shifted from getting cds to digital downloads. You paid for a product & you should have what you own & that's permanent.
These companies are too big to fail they will never shut down & if by some crazy way it did then the government should be responsible for maintaining a server to keep providing downloads forever. You should go to your state congressmen & make this an issue something to ballot.
